Not only did our fathers leave us within days (mine 9/16), but we both called them "Daddy."

I am so sorry. I lost my Daddy June 23,2003. I will never forget the day, or the time... 10AM. Daddy's are special to little girls. And as long as that little girl lives in you, you will never forget, and he will always live.

I lost my dad in 2001. He was 59 and died of a heart attack in his sleep. It still hurts. BUT, I know I was so fortunate to be his daughter and will always treasure our relationship. Hugs to you... Dawn

It's such a sad thing to lose a parent or anyone we are close to. I wasn't all that close to my dad but it still hurt to lose him. I lost my mother two years later and even though it was 12 years ago I still miss her so much. We were more like best friends and were very close. I dream of them both quite often and they feel closer to me when I do.

Having happy memories to reflect on is a precious treasure that you are lucky to have. I am continually surprised to meet people who have so few of those with their family.

Change isn't always bad (can be quite a good thing sometimes), but loss of something or someone we love always hurts and is hard to adjust to. I know it is a hard time for you, journaling is a good thing to do, to help to heal, to feel close those who are gone physically but you will feel their spirit close and that will help immensely. Your dad sounds like a lovely person who had a lot of love and compassion for other beings...there should be more such souls around us and the world would be a better place.

Dearest Nona,

My heart goes out to you. My mum died two years ago and I am terrified that I will one day forget the sound of her voice, the expressiveness of her hands, the way she had with a wise-ass comeback.

Hope
